Job summary

Choice Teachers in Watford is seeking a proactive Student Support Advisor to cover long-term sickness at our Watford campus. You will deliver information, advice, and guidance that promotes student wellbeing and employability, helping learners develop independence and aspirations.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with responsibilities across enrichment activities, record-keeping, and cross-college liaison to support learners and college-wide events.

Qualifications

  • Education: General level of education at degree or professional level, or equivalent attainment through professional experience.
  • Maths & English: Qualified in English and Maths to Level 2 (or a commitment to achieve).
  • Experience: Real-life or work experience that supports students to develop and modify behaviour to be acceptable in the workplace, alongside a working knowledge of record keeping and general administration.
  • Core Skills: A 'can-do', outcome-focused attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high level of personal integrity, and confidence using modern technology.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver cross-college activities for students to contribute to the enrichment programme.
  • Support applicants by providing advice on available support and assisting with local school liaison activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date manual and computerised records, collecting statistical data to monitor KPIs and service level agreements.
  • Acquire and maintain a strong knowledge of information sources to meet learner needs.
  • Work flexibly as part of the Student Support team to provide an integrated, responsive service.
  • Participate in college-wide activities, including duty rotas, enrolment, marketing events, and team training.
