Job summary

New City College Rainham Campus is seeking a permanent Part-time Pastoral Tutor to guide learners throughout their time with us. You will deliver weekly group tutorials and 1:1 sessions, helping students set goals, stay motivated and overcome personal or academic challenges.

Working closely with curriculum and support staff, you will monitor attendance, support wellbeing, contribute to enrichment, and promote an inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• You should have strong communication and organisational skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding, equality and student wellbeing is important.
• You are proactive, empathetic and committed to helping learners succeed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging weekly group tutorials to support wellbeing and personal development.
• Provide 1:1 support to students, setting and reviewing SMART targets.
• Monitor attendance and engagement, identifying at‑risk learners and providing timely help.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, parents and support teams to ensure student success.
• Support progression planning, including UCAS and work experience.
• Contribute to enrichment activities and promote a positive campus culture.
