Job summary

Carshalton College is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Tutor to support students in achieving their course goals and making the most of their college experience. You will work with teaching staff to deliver targeted pastoral guidance, aiming to improve attendance, retention and achievement across cohorts.

You'll lead timetabled group tutorials, coordinate 1:1 sessions and oversee initial assessments, identifying support needs and ensuring ALS provision.

Qualifications

• experience supporting young adults to develop their personal, social and employability skills
• ability to motivate and engage young people
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• well organised, able to prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines and remain effective when working under pressure

Responsibilities

• lead timetabled group tutorial sessions and coordinate a rolling programme of 1:1 tutorials
• oversee initial and diagnostic assessments, identify individual support needs and ensure appropriate provision (ALS)
• provide instruction in workshop activities for Construction students
