Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group is seeking a Personal Tutor at Stafford College to support students with their academic and personal development. This full-time, 37-hour-per-week, fixed-term role runs until 31 August 2027 and carries a salary of £28,664–£31,318 per year.

You will deliver group tutorials, monitor progress with ILPs, and collaborate with curriculum teams to promote attendance, wellbeing, and successful progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tutor capacity or equivalent.
• Holds English and Maths GCSEs or equivalent.
• Able to build rapport with 16–19 year olds, in groups and one-to-one.
• Experience with Higher Education / UCAS processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Contact parents/guardians within the first 6 weeks and throughout the course.
• Use the college monitoring system to support students early and intervene.
• Support students with personal or social difficulties and signpost as needed.
• Promote progress through ILP targets and effective 1:1 tutorials.
• Deliver engaging tutorial activities and monitor learner behaviour and progress.
