Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is seeking a Personal Tutor for Stafford College. The role involves delivering group tutorials and 1:1 support to 16–19 year old students to enhance academic progress and personal development.

You will monitor student progress, engage with parents, and use the college system to implement early interventions. A teaching-friendly environment with development opportunities is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a tutor capacity role or equivalent.
• Holds English & Maths GCSE or equivalent.
• Ability to develop rapport with 16–19 year old learners; UCAS experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Make contact with parents/guardians within the first 6 weeks to discuss progress and attendance.
• Utilise the college monitoring system to support learners early and take action where needed.
• Provide 1:1 and group tutorials to support personal development and wellbeing.
• Set and review targets via ILP to facilitate academic and personal progress.
• Promote learner behaviour, attendance, punctuality and progression.
