Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is seeking an enthusiastic Personal Tutor to support students through tutorials, monitor targets via ILPs, and promote personal development and wellbeing. You will be the central contact from enrolment to completion, coordinating with curriculum teams to ensure a smooth transition and active student engagement.

The role suits tutoring or teaching assistant experience, with GCSEs in English and Maths, strong rapport with 16-19 learners, and an ability

Qualifications

Holds English & Maths GCSE or equivalent.
Experience in tutor capacity roles or similar is desirable.
Strong rapport with 16-19 year olds in group and one-to-one settings.
Experience with Higher Education/UCAS processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

Make contact with parents/guardians of tutees within the first 6 weeks and throughout the course to discuss progress and attendance.
Utilise the college monitoring system to implement support and take action early.
Support students with personal, domestic or social difficulties and signpost to additional support.
Promote achievement and retention through ILP target setting and regular 1:1s.
Conduct effective tutorial activities and promote positive learner behaviour.
