Job summary

School-Home Support (SHS) seeks a Family Support Practitioner in Blackpool. You will be based at the setting and deliver casework to promote educational outcomes, focusing on attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will build strong relationships with schools, parents and children, apply safeguarding practices and participate in induction and ongoing professional development. This permanent role is term-time only plus inset days, 2.5 days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in an education setting or similar to improve attendance and engagement.
• Experience engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group support.
• Understanding factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn.
• Experience working with families from diverse communities.
• Experience with safeguarding processes and referral routes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for children and their families.
• Focus on improving attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.
• Work in close partnership with school staff and based at the setting.
• Build relationships with schools, parents and children to support holistic family needs.
