Richard Huish College in Taunton is seeking a Student Success and Mentor Adviser to provide mentoring, study-skills support and progression guidance to 16–19 students. You will help learners build confidence and resilience to succeed academically and in their future careers.

The role involves delivering study skills workshops, supporting university applications and liaising with Learning Support, Well-Being and external partners, while encouraging attendance and independent learning.

Qualifikationen

• One-to-one mentoring and study-skills support for 16–19 students.
• Support progression to university, apprenticeships and employment.
• Collaborate with Learning Support, Well-Being and pastoral teams.
• Deliver workshops on revision, organisation, time management, motivation, resilience and exam preparation.
• Build positive relationships and promote safeguarding and inclusion.

Aufgaben

• Deliver engaging study skills workshops covering revision, organisation, time management, motivation, resilience, note-taking and exam preparation.
• Provide one-to-one mentoring and coaching, helping students set goals, monitor progress and develop positive study habits.
• Support students experiencing barriers to learning, working with Learning Support and pastoral teams.
• Encourage attendance, engagement and independent learning.
• Assist with university, UCAS, apprenticeship and employment applications, including personal statements and progression planning.
• Help students explore careers, courses and labour market opportunities.
• Support university visits and progression initiatives.
• Liaise with universities, employers and external partners.
• Keep up to date with higher education admissions and student finance developments.
• Contribute to the Student Executive and represent student voice, especially for those facing barriers to education.
• Support enrolment, open events, induction and wider student services activities.
