Job summary

Darlington College is seeking an enthusiastic IT Support Technician to join our IT team and help deliver an excellent digital experience for students and staff. You will support the technology across classrooms, offices and learning spaces, contributing to the ongoing development of our IT and digital services.

You will provide first and second line support, troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues, install and maintain equipment, support AV technology and assist with events.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of desktop hardware, software and operating systems.
• Experience of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional, approachable manner.
• Methodical approach to problem solving and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
• Genuine interest in IT developments and keeping up to date with trends.
• Experience in IT support environments, service desks or ITIL is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second line technical support across the College.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues.
• Install and maintain equipment and AV technology.
• Support College events and contribute to IT projects and service improvements.
• Communicate effectively with staff and students, and document work.
