Job summary

Suffolk New College is seeking a Progress Tutor for our Halesworth campus. The role is on-site, 35 hours per week, 52 weeks a year, with a salary in the £28,080 to £32,895 per annum range. You will guide, mentor and motivate learners aged 16–19, helping them stay on track personally and professionally.

Essential criteria include Level 3 with literacy/numeracy to Level 2 (GCSE 4/C) and a teaching qualification or commitment to achieving one. Closing date 11 Oct 2026; interview 19 Oct 2026.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with young people and ability to motivate and inspire; monitoring progress.

Responsibilities

  • Guide, mentor and motivate learners aged 16–19, helping them stay on track personally and professionally.
  • Collaborate with curriculum teams to support learners' journeys.
  • Be organised, multi-task and communicate with a range of audiences including Progress Tutors and Vocational Tutors.
