Job summary

Askham Bryan College is seeking a Student Progress & Support professional to work with a caseload of students, helping them succeed in their studies and beyond. You will deliver weekly group sessions on employability, life skills and personal development, and meet students individually to review progress, set goals and celebrate achievements.

You’ll provide pastoral support, help with attendance, organisation and meeting deadlines, and work with teaching staff and college services to remove

• Experience supporting students in an educational setting.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
• Organised, approachable and a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly group sessions covering employability, life skills and personal development.
• Meet students individually to review progress, set goals and celebrate achievements.
• Provide pastoral support and help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Support students with attendance, punctuality, organisation and meeting deadlines.
• Work closely with teaching staff, Student Services, Wellbeing, Safeguarding and Inclusive Learning teams.
• Help students make the most of work placements and gather evidence for qualifications.
• Support students with UCAS applications and their transition into College.
• Give students a voice by coordinating Student Voice activities.
• Keep clear and accurate student records.
• Get involved in induction, open events and other College activities.
