Job summary

Colchester Institute is seeking a Progress and Destination Tutor to support students en route to positive destinations, deliver weekly personal development sessions, and monitor attendance. The role involves managing a caseload, liaising with curriculum teams, and enabling students to complete work-related experiences.

Based at Colchester Campus, the post emphasizes early engagement, effective communication, and safeguarding across diverse student groups.

Qualifications

• Experience with 16-19 year olds in person.
• Ability to mentor and motivate individuals toward goals.
• Calm handling of difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Support induction and orientation, identifying destinations and barriers to learning.
• Monitor attendance and disengagement, applying college policy as needed.
• Assist course team in arranging 30 hours of work-related experience placement.
• Deliver and adapt Personal Development sessions using College approach.
• Hold regular one-to-one tutorials with tutees to support progress (maths/English/Work Related hours).
