Job summary

UCS College Group is seeking a Student Experience Officer based at Cannington College. You will lead the development and delivery of student-led clubs and societies, ensuring equitable access to enriching opportunities across the college group and coordinating wellbeing and safeguarding for residential learners, including under-18 provision.

You will collaborate with the Students' Union, provide tailored wellbeing mentoring, and plan diverse enrichment activities to develop social and leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of student-led clubs and societies; work with the Students' Union to promote equitable access to enriching opportunities.
• Coordinate wellbeing mentoring to support individual student needs across UCS College Group.
• Focus on safeguarding and wellbeing of residential learners, including under-18 provision, with 24/7 support for residential students.
• Plan and deliver enrichment activities to develop social and leadership skills and promote independent living.

Job description

Based at Cannington College, the Student Experience Officer will lead the development and delivery of student-led clubs and societies, working closely with the Students' Union to ensure all learners across UCS College Group have equitable access to enriching opportunities that promote personal growth, leadership, and community engagement. The college Residential provision provides accommodation for students aged 16+ studying across any of our College Group. The College's primary student accommodation is based at the Cannington campus and consists of 211 beds. The role includes coordinating college Student Experience opportunities and EDI initiatives, supervising the Students' Union space to promote a safe and inclusive environment, and providing tailored wellbeing mentoring to support individual student needs. This role will also co-ordinate and monitor the wellbeing of the College's residential learners with a specific focus on the under 18 provision. A key element of the role will be to provide support to all students in residential accommodation and work with students to mentor, self-assess, agree targets and review progress. The role will also plan and deliver a diverse range of enrichment activities that add value to the residential experience collaborating with the students to develop their social and leadership skills and prepare them for independent living. The working pattern for this post will be 4 working days, followed by 4 rest days. The shift will begin at 09:00 and finish at 20:40 with one hour lunch.The Student Experience Team at Cannington interviews and allocates residential places to students. They provide 24/7 support for residential students with issues ranging from accommodation queries to student wellbeing, entertainment and enrichment. The team's primary responsibility is the safeguarding of residential students. The residential provision was inspected by Ofsted under the Further Education Residential Accommodation: National Minimum Standards in October 2022 and awarded Outstanding overall.UCS offer a range of fantastic employee benefits including:
