Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking an energetic FE Student Pastoral Support and Engagement Officer to lead timely interventions for students who are disengaging from their studies and to champion a centralised Pastoral Hub.

You will work with staff to identify barriers to attendance, retention and achievement, support safeguarding and collaborate with external agencies to maximise outreach and early help for students.

Qualifications

• Excellent initiative and strong communication skills.
• Experience with hard-to-engage individuals.
• Understanding of barriers to educational achievement.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely pastoral interventions and support colleagues in safeguarding.
• Identify and resolve barriers to attendance, retention and achievement.
• Champion pastoral themes and deliver an early help offer via the Pastoral Hub.
