Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking an Attendance, Progress and Academic Skills Coach to support disadvantaged students and enable progress. The role focuses on mentoring, encouraging engagement with the Study Programme and coordinating with Tutor, Learning Support, and Student Engagement teams.

Term-time only, 37 hours per week, salary £28,273 pro rata per annum. Successful candidates will join the English and Maths Department and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational abilities.
• Experience or aspiration to work with young people and provide support.

Responsibilities

• Champion and support disadvantaged students to remove barriers to progress.
• Act as a mentor to promote high engagement with the Study Programme.
• Work with Tutor teams and Learning Support/Student Engagement to coordinate support.
