Job summary

The University of Kansas, through the Student Engagement Center, seeks a Program Coordinator for Community Programs to strengthen the student experience by guiding registered student organizations and community initiatives. The role will supervise graduate and undergraduate staff and collaborate with students, staff, faculty, and advisors to expand outreach and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education, college student personnel, educational leadership, counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
• One year of full-time experience working with college students through programs and services; two years as a Graduate Assistant counts.
• Experience developing and implementing educational materials, programs, and workshops.
• Applied knowledge of best practices and national trends impacting student involvement, leadership development.
• Experience collaborating with a wide range of students, staff, faculty, administrators, and other community members.
• Strong written communication skills evidenced in application materials.
• Experience creating marketing materials and using social media in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Support and oversee registration and guidelines for student organizations.
• Lead campus involvement fairs and large events like Welcome Back Bash and Winterfest.
• Plan biweekly student programs in partnership with student organizations.
• Manage program budgets for student organizations and programs.
• Supervise one graduate assistant.
• Develop learning outcomes and evaluate program effectiveness.
