Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Non-Traditional Student Program Coordinator for Community Programs within the Student Engagement Center. The role strengthens the KU experience for non-traditional students and supervises graduate and undergraduate staff to implement outreach and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education, college student personnel, educational leadership, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
• One year of full-time experience working with college students through programs and services; two years as a Graduate Assistant counts.
• Experience developing educational materials, programs, and workshops.
• Applied knowledge of best practices and trends in student involvement, engagement, and leadership.
• Experience collaborating with students, staff, faculty, and community members.
• Strong written communication skills demonstrated in application materials.
• Experience creating marketing materials and using social media in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive student engagement curriculum for non-traditional students.
• Oversee direct outreach, development and support for student organizations and commuter/student groups.
• Oversee the KU student commuter lounge and biweekly programs.
• Plan and manage program budgets and marketing materials.
• Lead outreach across KU campuses and re-launch the Non-Traditional Student Foundation.
• Create newsletters and coordinate campus-wide involvement fairs and orientation sessions.
• Develop workshops for registered student organizations and ensure advisors are trained.
