Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated Behaviour Mentors to support mainstream secondary schools across Central and South Bristol. The role involves mentoring students with challenging behaviours, SEMH needs and supporting attendance and engagement.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, build positive relationships, follow safeguarding guidelines, and collaborate with pastoral teams. Enhanced DBS is desirable. Permanent opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people
• Experience supporting behaviour, SEMH or additional needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group mentoring
• Support students disengaged from learning or at risk of exclusion
• Develop positive coping strategies and emotional regulation
• Build strong relationships based on trust and consistency
• Support behaviour, attendance and classroom engagement
• Deliver interventions focused on personal development and wellbeing
• Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams and SENCOs
