Job summary

Castle Employment Group is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welder for its Risca facility in Newport. The role involves MIG/MAG and Flux Core welding on heavy structural steel for long-term UK infrastructure projects. Immediate weld tests are available, with permanent PAYE positions and overtime opportunities.

Shift is day-based, 37.5 hours per week. Overtime pays up to double time. Applicants should be skilled in reading fabrication drawings and working to strict quality and safety

Qualifications

• Experienced Structural Steel Welder with a background in heavy steel fabrication.
• Confident with MIG / MAG welding.
• Positional Flux Core welding experience required and air arc gouging experience required.

Responsibilities

• MIG / MAG and Flux Core welding on heavy structural steel.
• Positional Flux Core welding, including multi-run fillet and butt welds.
• Air arc gouging on heavy structural steel components.
• Welding to structural coded standards.
• Working from detailed fabrication drawings.
• Working to high-quality and inspection standards.
