Job summary

Ambitek Limited is seeking an experienced Structural MIG Welder for a busy fabrication team in Winsford. The role offers long-term contracting with competitive rates and the chance to work in an established fabrication environment.

The successful candidate will weld structural steel beams and end plates using solid-wire MIG, read engineering drawings, and maintain high quality and safety standards throughout the project.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural MIG welding, ideally within a fabrication environment.
• Demonstrable ability to complete a 10mm multi-run T-joint fillet weld to a high standard.
• Must be able to pass a trade test prior to starting.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Local candidates only - accommodation is not provided.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding structural steel beams and end plates.
• Using solid-wire MIG in the down-hand position.
• Completing 10mm T-joint multi-run fillet welds, including start/stop operations.
• Working accurately from engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Maintaining consistently high standards of weld quality.
• Working safely and in accordance with site and workshop procedures.
