Job summary

Harvey Jacob Ltd. is seeking a Site Manager on a freelance basis to lead a large steel structure and cladding package for a new distribution centre near Bedford.

The role runs for two years with a November 2026 start, reporting to the Senior Site Manager and coordinating with the Design Manager to resolve design issues from drawings. The successful candidate will chair subcontract meetings, produce lookahead schedules, and oversee safety, quality and site coordination.

Qualifications

• Must hold Black or White CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, Temporary Works Supervisor, Fire Marshal and Asbestos Awareness.

Responsibilities

• Manage steel structure and cladding packages on a large new-build distribution centre.
• Liaise with the Design Manager to resolve design issues from drawings.
• Chair subcontract meetings and coordinate progress.
• Prepare lookahead schedules for packages, safety, and quality.
• Ensure compliance with site safety and quality standards.

Site Manager - Steel structure & cladding

We have an requirement to start early November 2026 for a Site Manager to manage a very large steel structure & cladding packages on a large new build distribution centre in Bedford.

Reporting into the Senior Site Manager, liaising with Design Manager on any potential design issues picked up in the drawings and coordination meeting, chairing sub contract meetings, producing lookaheads for packages, safety, quality etc.

They are looking to engage someone on a freelance basis for a 2 year duration.

Must possess, Black or White CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, Temporary Works Supervisor, Fire Marshal & Asbestos Awareness.

Rates to be agreed.
