Job summary

Brandon James Ltd in Manchester is seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to lead diverse structural projects across the UK. You will inspect, design, prepare technical reports and provide consultancy advice while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with surveying and building consultancy teams.

The role offers hybrid working and opportunities for growth. A salary range of £45,000–£60,000 is provided, with pension contributions, mileage reimbursement and a discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Chartered status with IStructE or equivalent.
• Degree in structural/civil engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong experience in structural design, analysis, inspections and project delivery.
• Knowledge of masonry, steel, concrete and timber structures.
• Experience using recognised structural design/analysis software.
• Understanding of Building Regulations and Eurocodes.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from inspection to completion.
• Produce designs, calculations, specifications and reports.
• Undertake site inspections and provide professional advice.
• Manage programmes, budgets and client expectations.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Support business development and identify growth opportunities.
• Travel to UK project sites as required.
