Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis across primary, secondary and specialist settings in London and the surrounding areas. You will provide dedicated 1:1 interventions, including phonics and literacy support, adapt learning to individual needs, and work with teachers and SENDCos to implement IEPs.

A calm, patient, and resilient approach is essential.

TimePlan Education is looking for exceptional SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a range of welcoming primary, secondary, and specialist schools. We are seeking confident professionals who can provide high-quality, individualised support and make a lasting impact on pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.

We're looking for SEN Teaching Assistants who:

  • Have extensive experience providing 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs in a school setting.
  • Have experience supporting children with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
  • Have strong phonics knowledge and experience, with the confidence to support early reading using recognised phonics programmes and reinforce literacy skills through targeted interventions.
  • Can confidently adapt learning to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning.
  • Are calm, patient, adaptable, and resilient when managing challenging situations.
  • Work effectively as part of a wider school team and communicate confidently with teachers and SEND professionals.
  • Hold (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Your Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant through TimePlan Education, you may:
