Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis in primary settings across Ealing. The role involves delivering targeted phonics and literacy interventions, adapting lessons to individual needs, and working closely with teachers and SENDCos to implement plans and behaviour strategies.

You will help pupils build confidence, communication and emotional regulation in an inclusive, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing 1:1 SEN support in a school setting.
  • Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
  • Strong phonics knowledge with the ability to support early reading and targeted interventions.
  • Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining high behaviour and learning expectations.
  • Calm, patient, adaptable and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Work effectively as part of a wider school team and communicate with teachers and SEND professionals.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on Update Service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with additional learning, communication, or behavioural needs.
  • Deliver personalised interventions, including phonics and literacy support, to help pupils progress.
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENDCos to implement individual education plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment for every child.
  • Record progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

We're looking for SEN Teaching Assistants who:

  • Are calm, patient, adaptable, and resilient when managing challenging situations.
  • Work effectively as part of a wider school team and communicate confidently with teachers and SEND professionals.
