Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Staff Nurse for the Stroke Unit. You will deliver direct patient care on a 28-bed stroke ward (G3) and support a 12-bed Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (G2A).

You will work closely with the Senior Sister, Matron, and MDT to provide evidence-based care, promote safety, and drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes. A flexible working pattern is welcomed to meet service needs.

Qualifications

• NMC code adherence and direct patient care.
• Maintain professional competencies per NMC standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Act as a practicing nurse providing direct patient care in line with NMC code.
• Lead assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care within the team.
• Be an advocate and expert regarding the stroke patient care and pathway.
• Be a role model and show a commitment to stroke care and management.
• Demonstrate infection control knowledge and promote standards in the ward.
• Collaborate with ward manager to address ad hoc incidents and complaints.
• Assist in discharge planning with MDT to ensure patient flow.
• Support education for patients and families and mentor junior colleagues.
• Assist in audits and research as required.
