Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. The role focuses on delivering high-quality stroke care, assessing needs, planning and evaluating treatments, and ensuring effective MDT communication.

A named supervisor supports junior staff and learners within the ward. Applicants must have post-registration experience, completed their nursing preceptorship, and be registered with the NMC.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Adult/General Level 1 or Level 2)
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing studies or equivalent
• Evidence of CPD and continual professional development
• Evidence of involvement in teaching and mentoring

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate personalised care for patients.
• Undertake nursing interventions using stroke care knowledge.
• Monitor and adjust care plans based on outcomes.
• Provide holistic support to patients and families with dignity and compassion.
• Assist in ward organisation and communicate clearly within the team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and make appropriate referrals.
• Supervise and assess learners and unregistered staff as a named supervisor.
