Job summary

Digital Science is seeking a Payment Platform Manager to own our B2C payments ecosystem end-to-end, focusing on Stripe and adjacent platforms. The role is hybrid with office visits in London about twice a month.

You will drive optimisation, manage payment risk and compliance, and develop vendor relationships to improve conversion and cost efficiency. Strong analytics and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in payment operations, e-commerce, or fintech.
• Deep working expertise with Stripe, including Billing, Radar, and Sigma (or equivalent tooling).
• Data-driven with working proficiency in SQL and BI/analytics tools.
• Technically fluent and able to collaborate with engineering and product teams on integrations.

Responsibilities

• Act as internal product owner for Stripe, Recurly, and PayPal and as primary contact for Stripe.
• Document and maintain SOPs for payment platform configuration, integrations and change management.
• Monitor and improve checkout authorisation rates and payment conversion.
• Lead rollout of Alternative Payment Methods to widen coverage and improve conversion.
• Own retry, dunning, and FX strategy for cross-border payments.
• Manage disputes, chargebacks, and fraud tooling (Stripe Radar, 3D Secure).
• Own PCI-DSS compliance and triage conversion drop-offs.
• Develop the commercial relationship with Stripe and other vendors, including pricing discussions.
• Build cost-benefit analyses for payment infra decisions (e.g., EU Stripe instance).
• Collaborate with Revenue Ops, Product, and B2C Commercial teams to align payment strategy.
