Stress Engineer - Dorchester - £60,000 with possible relocation allowance - Great Company Culture
We have an amazing opportunity for a Stress Engineer, located in the beautiful county of Dorset.
Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of Aerospace, Defence, and Marine equipment. They are looking for a Stress Engineer to join them on a permanent basis as soon as possible.
In this role, you will be providing your engineering knowledge to support the delivery of projects and programmes and the innovation and development of new products.
All whilst having the opportunity to continuously develop your own engineering and project management skills within the Company’s dynamic engineering environment.
Stress Engineer - Responsibilities:
Undertake design work in accordance with the parameters set out by the Engineering Manager.
This will include analysis via hand or Finite Element Analysis (FEA), 2D drawing, 3D CAD, Solidworks, DDM, PDM and the production of reports/documentation to satisfy the needs of the project.
Conduct regular project and programme reviews, reporting to and updating key stakeholders and Customers.
Participate in / supervise the manufacture of prototypes and trials in which the physical testing of the prototypes/samples is not uncommon.
Maintain accurate, timely records of hours worked on each project.
Participate in the initial design, estimating and review of assigned projects.
Stress Engineer - Requirements for success:
A degree in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering
Proficiency in finite element analysis (linear static and non-linear dynamic stress analysis) and classical calculations.
Experience of ESI Virtual Performance Solutions suite (PAM-CRASH) is desirable or experience of explicit analysis using LS-DYNA, Abaqus or Radioss.
Proficiency in writing stress reports / structural analysis reports.
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
A valid driving licence and a willingness to travel in the UK and abroad are also required.
Stress Engineer - Salary and Benefits:
Up to £60,000
