About the job you're considering

Capgemini Engineering are looking to recruit Stress Engineers with knowledge of non-conformance within an aerospace/marine engineering background.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role

Non-conformance Stress Engineer within the Capgemini Engineering Stress Engineering department

  1. Assessing impact of an item of non-conformance on suitability to meet component requirements and the impact on performance at system level.
  2. Sentence a concession or repair with a rational and justified engineering statement.
  3. Perform hand calcs to support conclusions.
  4. Perform FE analysis provide in depth findings.
  5. Assessing Engineering drawings.
  6. Following procedures and specifications.
  7. Liaising with non-conformance specialists.
  8. Design for Manufacture.
  9. Applying manufacturing and quality specifications and assigning notes.
  10. Performing post-processing and generating appropriate outputs.
  11. Carrying out various types of analysis based on the above, i.e. static stress, fatigue, life assessments, optimisation, etc.
  12. Assessing suitability of repair and concession activities.
  13. Presenting and reporting progress and results, externally and internally.
  14. Maintaining direct working relationships with clients and represent both your work and the work of team members during client meetings.

Your Skills and Experience

  1. Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline, ideally mechanical.
  2. Experience of stress engineering for airframe or aero-engine systems and all associated components required.
  3. Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing process desirable.
  4. Manufacturing, Producibility and Concession process experience.
  5. Ability to work quickly and accurately to follow client needs.
  6. Liaising with specialist teams.
  7. Team player, able to work effectively and to short timescales with others in a busy engineering centre.
  8. Proactive attitude and ability to communicate and report at different levels.
  9. Excellent communication skills with a good level of verbal and written English.

Your Security Experience

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required. There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
