Job description

Safran Engineering is seeking a Stress Engineer to join our team as our customer plans to ramp up activities across the summer.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform detailed finite element analysis of stationary and rotating assemblies using Ansys Workbench.
  2. Conduct hand calculations to provide preliminary assessments and verify analysis results.
  3. Collaborate closely with in-house design and stress teams, providing regular updates and delivering high-quality technical reports and presentations on time.
Location and Work Arrangement

The role is based in the Bristol area, combining remote work and on-site presence, approximately 3 days on site and 2 days at home weekly.

Requirements
  • Experience with product, assembly, and component level meshing, model setup, and analysis in Ansys Workbench.
  • Proficiency in linear and nonlinear stress analysis, modal, harmonic, and random vibration analysis of stationary and rotating assemblies, including rotordynamics.
  • Experience with explicit dynamics analysis (e.g., LS-Dyna) is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials and their behaviors.
  • Knowledge of damage mechanisms such as plasticity and fatigue (LCF/HCF), with experience in nCode preferred.
  • Strong technical report writing and presentation skills in English.
