Job summary

W P RECRUITMENT HR LTD is looking for a Street Cleansing Operative / HGV Class 2 Driver on a temporary ongoing basis in the Isle of Wight. The role involves operating road sweepers, performing vehicle checks and following planned routes with a 40-hour week, Monday to Sunday with two days off together.

Candidates must have a valid HGV/Class 2 licence and be physically fit. The job requires safe operation, adherence to health and safety and highways regulations, and the ability to work well both

• Road sweeping, litter picking and removal of debris.

Street Cleansing Operative / HGV Class 2 Driver

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 40 hours per week: 5/6am - 1.30/2.30pm, 5 days from 7

Days: Monday - Sunday ( 2 consecutive days off)

Duration: Temporary ongoing

Duties:

Safe operation of plant including left-hand drive road sweepers, working to planned routes and schedules.

Vehicle checks, basic maintenance and reporting defects.

Road sweeping, litter picking and removal of debris.

Adherence to health and safety and highways regulations.

The role may also include:

Emptying public rubbish bins including dog waste.

Weed removal, clearing pavements, paths, drains and gullies of green waste.

gum and graffiti removal

Experience:

Must have full clean HGV / Category C driver’s license and a good awareness of health and safety.

Must be physically fit due to nature of duties.

Must be able to work well as part of a team and on own initiative.

Salary: £13.85 per hour worked, overtime paid a time and a third.
