Job summary

W P RECRUITMENT HR LTD is seeking a Maintenance Operative (Highways) to assist in reactive maintenance across the Isle of Wight. You will work in a small team handling pothole filling, basic tarmacking, and street furniture repairs on a 40-hour week.

The role requires construction experience, physical fitness, a valid driver’s licence, and a good awareness of health and safety. On-call evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have previous construction experience.
• Highways experience is an advantage.
• Must have a full driver licence and an awareness of health and safety.
• Must be able to work well as part of a team, to instruction.
• Flexibility with working hours as on call rota can be evenings and weekends.
• Salary: £12.71 per hour worked, overtime paid at time and a half

Maintenance Operative (Highways)

Industry: Civil Engineering

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 7.30 a.m. - 4.00pm, 40 hours per week

Days: Monday - Friday, with weekends and evenings on an on-call rota basis

Duration: Temporary, immediate start, ongoing

Duties:

• Working within a small team, attending reactive maintenance requests including;
• filling of potholes, basic tarmacking,
• repairing, replacing and repainting street furniture,
• general labouring and manual handling.
• Adherence to quality and health and safety standards.

Experience:

Must have previous construction experience and be physically fit due to the nature of duties.

Highways experience is an advantage.

Must have a full driver licence and an awareness of health and safety.

Must be able to work well as part of a team, to instruction.
