Job summary

WP Recruitment is seeking a Street Cleansing Operative / HGV Class 2 Driver for the Isle of Wight. You will operate left-hand drive road sweepers, perform vehicle checks and route schedules, and assist with debris removal.

Hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday with two consecutive days off, with overtime paid at time and a third. This temporary ongoing role requires a clean HGV license and strong health and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Must have full clean HGV / Category C driver’s license.
• Good awareness of health and safety.
• Must be physically fit and able to work well as part of a team or on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of plant including left-hand drive road sweepers, working to planned routes and schedules.
• Vehicle checks, basic maintenance and reporting defects.
• Road sweeping, litter picking and removal of debris.
• Adherence to health and safety and highways regulations.
• Emptying public rubbish bins including dog waste.
• Weed removal, clearing pavements, paths, drains and gullies of green waste.
• Gum and graffiti removal
