Job summary

W P RECRUITMENT HR LTD on the Isle of Wight is seeking a Driver/Street Cleansing Operative for 40 hours per week on a rota basis, including weekends. You will perform vehicle checks, empty bins, litter picking, and street cleansing tasks.

Candidates must have a full clean driving license, a good knowledge of the Island road network, and be physically fit to work outdoors in all weathers. The role is temporary ongoing with day/evening shifts 13:30–22:00.

Qualifications

• Awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle checks and reporting maintenance.
• Emptying public rubbish bins including dog waste.
• Manual handling and working to schedules/routes.
• Litter picking and clearing pavements, paths, drains and gullies.
• Gum and graffiti removal; adherence to health and safety and highways regulations.

Driver/ Street Cleansing Operative

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 40 hours per week: 13.30 - 22.00

Days: 5 days from 7 on a rota basis ( including weekends with 2 consecutive days off in the week)

Duration: Temporary Ongoing

Duties:

• Vehicle checks and reporting maintenance,
• emptying public rubbish bins including dog waste,
• manual handling and working to schedules/ routes.

Duties may also include:

• litter picking,
• clearing pavements, paths, drains and gullies of green waste.
• weed removal,
• gum and graffiti removal,
• adherence to health and safety and highways regulations,

Experience:

Must have full clean driver's license with a good knowledge of Island road network and awareness of health and safety.

Must be physically fit due to nature of duties and be able to undertake manual handling.

Must be able to work well as part of a team and on own initiative, outside, in all weathers.

Salary: £12.71 per hour worked 13.30 - 18.00, 18.30 - 22.00 £16.90 per hour worked.
