Job summary

VN Appointments is seeking a street cleansing operative to maintain cleanliness across highways and local areas in Thurrock. You will operate vehicles up to 3.5t GVW, use a range of cleansing tools, and work as part of an integrated local team following daily schedules.

The role requires flexible, customer-focused collaboration with street cleansing, highways, grounds maintenance, and waste teams, with records kept using in-cab and digital systems. PPE and safety gear must be worn and maintained.

Qualifications

• Operate vehicles up to 3.5t GVW and use cleansing equipment safely.
• Maintain accurate records using in-cab technology and digital systems.
• Work as part of a team and follow daily schedules and standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles, machinery, and equipment safely and correctly.
• Complete manual and mechanical street cleansing tasks (litter picking, sweeping, debris removal).
• Perform graffiti removal, fly-tipping clearance, weed and waste removal.
• Carry out safety checks, report faults promptly, and log timesheets and incidents.
