Job summary

National Gas is seeking a key member of the Strategy team to shape the future direction of the company in a fast-changing environment. You will combine corporate strategy development with executive decision support, helping navigate energy market shifts while maintaining energy security and enabling a low-carbon future.

You will lead strategic projects, provide robust analysis, and collaborate across functions to deliver aligned recommendations and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree educated (or equivalent professional experience) with significant strategy experience.
• Experience developing strategic recommendations and business cases for senior stakeholders.
• Understanding of energy market, policy and regulatory dynamics preferred.
• Ability to structure complex problems into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to derive simplicity from complexity.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence across levels.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter with proactive approach and outcomes focus.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel for executive-level materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop corporate strategies and recommendations for Executive and Board audiences.
• Provide strategic insight and decision support to Strategy Director and leadership.
• Monitor energy markets, regulation and geopolitics to identify opportunities and risks.
• Lead and deliver high-value strategic projects shaping priorities and investments.
• Build cross-functional relationships to drive aligned recommendations and delivery.
