Job Description
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans for the Consumer sector.
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics to identify areas of improvement.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide solutions.
- Identify and implement changes to improve efficiency and performance.
- Contribute to team meetings and projects in the Consultancy, Strategy & Change department.
- Lead teams and ensure delivery of high-quality services.
- Stay updated with industry trends and competitive landscape.
- Develop relationships with new and existing clients to expand business opportunities.
- Take a leadership role with the team and to hold a high quality, credible reputation with clients and in the broader market - experience of a range of M&A related projects will be critical, eg Commercial DD, M&A Strategy, Value creation etc
- Design and run mid-sized to large projects and/or very large, complex workstreams.
- Act as primary client liaison on engagements and act as an 'ambassador' for the firm.
- Produce client-ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require minimal review.
- Develop solutions to complex problems and challenge the thinking of more senior colleagues and clients.
- Help design - and guide junior staff to - execute detailed financial/business models performing complex scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Identify go-to-market and marketing opportunities and assume day-to-day responsibility for taking these to clients.
- Maintain active contact with mid-level clients outside of engagement situations.
- Show initiative to identify and drive thought leadership and knowledge management activities.
- Take day-to-day responsibility that the firm's risk management frameworks are adhered to.
- Actively seek out leadership opportunities, take responsibility for internal processes, and act as a leader and inspiration to junior team members.
- Provide timely feedback and coaching to other team members.
- Lead on practice development activities to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Strategy Consultant will have:
- Excellent at commercial due diligence.
- A strong academic background in a related field.
- Proficiency in strategic planning and performance analysis.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of the Consumer sector in the Professional Services industry.
- Extensive experience working in a leading strategy consulting business, Big 4 firm, or strategy/corporate development team in industry.
- Strong understanding of value drivers across the Consumer sector: Consumer Goods, Retail & Travel & Leisure, with views on future outlook.
- Experience leading mid-sized and large projects: designing work plans, managing teams, and delivering excellent client output and project economics, including recent M&A transactions such as CDD, VDD, M&A Strategy, or Value Creation projects in the Consumer sector.
- Experience designing proposals, scopes, and pricing for consulting assignments.
- Proactive in business development, including creating client pitches, generating insights, and maintaining client relationships.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership in building followership among junior staff.
- Experience in non-client-facing roles that drive practice growth, such as team management, training, or technical tool development.
Technical skills:
- Strong academic record.

- Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver practical recommendations.
- Skill in reviewing large technical data sets and extracting strategic insights.
- Strong numerical skills and commercial acumen.
