About Our Client

Deal advisory in strategy team of Big 4. London based.

Job Description

  1. Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans for the Consumer sector.
  2. Monitor and analyse performance metrics to identify areas of improvement.
  3. Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  4. Identify and implement changes to improve efficiency and performance.
  5. Contribute to team meetings and projects in the Consultancy, Strategy & Change department.
  6. Lead teams and ensure delivery of high-quality services.
  7. Stay updated with industry trends and competitive landscape.
  8. Develop relationships with new and existing clients to expand business opportunities.
  9. Take a leadership role with the team and to hold a high quality, credible reputation with clients and in the broader market - experience of a range of M&A related projects will be critical, eg Commercial DD, M&A Strategy, Value creation etc
  10. Design and run mid-sized to large projects and/or very large, complex workstreams.
  11. Act as primary client liaison on engagements and act as an 'ambassador' for the firm.
  12. Produce client-ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require minimal review.
  13. Develop solutions to complex problems and challenge the thinking of more senior colleagues and clients.
  14. Help design - and guide junior staff to - execute detailed financial/business models performing complex scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  15. Identify go-to-market and marketing opportunities and assume day-to-day responsibility for taking these to clients.
  16. Maintain active contact with mid-level clients outside of engagement situations.
  17. Show initiative to identify and drive thought leadership and knowledge management activities.
  18. Take day-to-day responsibility that the firm's risk management frameworks are adhered to.
  19. Actively seek out leadership opportunities, take responsibility for internal processes, and act as a leader and inspiration to junior team members.
  20. Provide timely feedback and coaching to other team members.
  21. Lead on practice development activities to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Strategy Consultant will have:

  1. Excellent at commercial due diligence.
  2. A strong academic background in a related field.
  3. Proficiency in strategic planning and performance analysis.
  4. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  7. Knowledge of the Consumer sector in the Professional Services industry.
  8. Extensive experience working in a leading strategy consulting business, Big 4 firm, or strategy/corporate development team in industry.
  9. Strong understanding of value drivers across the Consumer sector: Consumer Goods, Retail & Travel & Leisure, with views on future outlook.
  10. Experience leading mid-sized and large projects: designing work plans, managing teams, and delivering excellent client output and project economics, including recent M&A transactions such as CDD, VDD, M&A Strategy, or Value Creation projects in the Consumer sector.
  11. Experience designing proposals, scopes, and pricing for consulting assignments.
  12. Proactive in business development, including creating client pitches, generating insights, and maintaining client relationships.
  13. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  14. Proven leadership in building followership among junior staff.
  15. Experience in non-client-facing roles that drive practice growth, such as team management, training, or technical tool development.

Technical skills:

  1. Strong academic record.
  2. Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  3. Structured thinking combined with creativity.
  4. Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver practical recommendations.
  5. Skill in reviewing large technical data sets and extracting strategic insights.
  6. Strong numerical skills and commercial acumen.
  7. Ability to build complex financial models supporting recommendations.
  8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  9. Other language skills are a bonus.
