Job summary

DOT Partners is assisting a UK-based engineering group in recruiting a hands-on Financial Controller to lead finance across the UK entities, based in Worsley with travel to the Scottish site. You’ll partner with Sales, Operations and Production to drive financial performance and robust reporting.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, month-end, and statutory requirements, while developing a small team and improving processes and controls. Hybrid working is offered with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) with senior finance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or an operational business.
• Strong experience across financial control, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Understanding of production costing, inventory and bills of materials.

Responsibilities

• Own the UK finance function, including month-end, reporting and planning.
• Manage annual budgets, monthly forecasts and cash flow.
• Monitor financial performance, explain variances and identify risks/opportunities.
• Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations and accounting records.
• Coordinate statutory accounts, audits, tax filings and compliance.
• Improve processes, reporting and controls across UK entities.
• Support commercial decisions, tenders and sales activity with clear financial analysis.
• Partner with Operations and Production on costing and financial impact of decisions.
• Lead a small team of 3 and stay hands-on with day-to-day work.
