Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an ambitious Transport Projects & Programmes Team Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for business case development, commissioning and delivery of transport projects.

You will oversee a wide range of schemes, collaborate with members, contractors, and stakeholders, and drive performance, value for money and continuous improvement across the service.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification (or equivalent) such as NVQ Level 5 or BTEC Advanced Professional Diploma, OR significant relevant experience and ongoing professional development.
• Confident and collaborative leadership of teams or services within a complex environment.
• Significant experience in highways, transport, infrastructure, programme management, or commissioning environments, including knowledge of current legislation, governance and policies related to Highways and Transport.

Responsibilities

• Lead business case development, commissioning and delivery of transport projects and programmes.
• Oversee major transport schemes from design to delivery, ensuring quality and value for money.
• Act as a key representative for consultations, stakeholder forums, and government bodies to support project delivery.
