Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking two Transport Strategy Officers to help develop and implement the county's transport policies, strategies and plans. You will work with internal and external partners to inform policy and deliver strategic transport studies.

The role involves gathering evidence, providing technical advice to Members and stakeholders, and contributing to budget-driven project management. A strong background in transport planning and report writing is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold an HNC/HND/NVQ4 in a relevant qualification (e.g., Civil Engineering, Transportation or Planning).
• Experience in transport strategy, policy and plan development, traffic management or impact assessment of development.
• Knowledge of current transport legislation, policies and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the authority's transport policies, strategies and plans.
• Provide strategic and technical advice to Members, partners, customers and stakeholders.
• Gather evidence from national, regional and local sources to inform policy.
• Manage budgets and lead transport studies delivering evidence for policy and programme decisions.
