Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority seeks an accomplished Client Lead to provide senior specialist leadership across governance, change, investment and operational interfaces with the Bus Company. You will operate at the heart of a complex, multi-partner environment, coordinating activity and ensuring decisions are well informed.

You will deputise for the Head of Client and support WMCA’s ownership oversight by engaging with the Bus Company Board and subcommittees.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience operating at a senior specialist or deputy head level in complex, political or multi-partner environments.
• Ability to translate complex governance, risk and commercial issues into clear, evidence-based advice for senior leaders and Chairs.
• Strong judgement and credibility to advise boards, committees and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior subject matter expert across WMCA/Bus Company ownership and client interface.
• Support senior leaders, Board and Subcommittee Chairs with clear advice and risk insight.
• Coordinate complex change including mobilisation/demobilisation across franchise and operations.
• Support WMCA investment activity relating to fleet and depots.
• Maintain strategic oversight of risks, dependencies, actions and decisions across boundaries.
• Turn complex operational and governance matters into clear decisions and recommendations.
