Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Town Planner to join a Stratford-based planning consultancy in London, working with private and public sector clients on a varied portfolio. You will prepare and submit planning applications, undertake research and development appraisals, and provide development advice while liaising with local authorities and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Previous experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or related environment.
• Good knowledge of the UK planning system, legislation and policy.
• Experience with planning applications and associated documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
• MRTPI status or progress towards chartership would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting planning applications and supporting documentation.
• Undertaking planning research and development appraisals.
• Providing planning and development advice to clients.
• Assisting with planning appeals and enforcement matters.
• Supporting site promotion and development proposals.
• Liaising with local planning authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.
