Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead engagement and consultation for nationally significant desalination projects. You will build trust with communities, local authorities and regulators, and align engagement strategies with planning and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with technical teams, manage delivery partners, and represent the company at stakeholder events to ensure transparent communication and timely project progression.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading stakeholder engagement and consultation programmes within consultancy or in-house environments.
• Experience on major infrastructure projects, ideally in regulated sectors or DCO schemes.
• Strong understanding of planning, consultation and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to build trust and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-management skills.
• Experience managing sensitive issues and mitigating reputational risk.
• Experience managing consultants, budgets and project deliverables.
• Ability to explain complex technical or environmental information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder and community engagement for nationally significant infrastructure projects.
• Develop and deliver consultation and engagement strategies aligned to planning requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with communities, authorities, regulators and stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder risks and opportunities to minimise delays and reputational impact.
• Work with technical teams to ensure feedback informs design and development.
• Manage engagement delivery partners and external consultants.
• Represent Anglian Water at meetings, partnerships and events.
• Support wider communications to improve public understanding of desalination and resilience.
