Job summary

M&G plc is recruiting a Category Specialist to provide UK procurement and analytical support. The role focuses on savings, spend analysis, and market intelligence, working with the UK team and India procurement to deliver value and credible services to the business.

You will use data tools and market knowledge to challenge spend, run sourcing events, and maintain robust documentation for governance and supplier reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, sourcing or category support in indirect spend.
• Strong analytical skills including spend analysis and TCO modelling.
• Experience running sourcing events and evaluating supplier responses.

Responsibilities

• Identify savings opportunities and quantify benefits against plan.
• Analyse spend, compare rate cards, model bids and total cost of ownership.
• Prepare negotiation packs and support Category Manager in negotiations.
• Run UK stakeholder–involved sourcing events and maintain audit trails.
• Coordinate with offshore teams and ensure governance and risk controls.
