Job summary

Grade A Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting for a SENDCo to lead a supportive Learning Support Department in a secondary school. You will champion inclusion, drive SEND provision, and work with senior leaders, staff, parents, governors, and external agencies to secure outstanding outcomes for students with SEND.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with SEN experience.
• National Award for SEN Coordination or willingness to progress.
• Significant experience supporting SEND in a secondary school.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND provision across the school.
• Lead and manage the Learning Support Department and staff.
• Oversee identification, assessment, monitoring, and support of SEND students through an effective assess, plan, do, review cycle.
• Ensure high-quality teaching for SEND through collaboration with teaching staff and departmental leaders.
• Manage and monitor SEND funding and resources to maximise student outcomes.
• Lead EHCP reviews and ensure all SEND documentation is completed to statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies that improve achievement, attendance, inclusion, and wellbeing for students with SEND.
• Act as the school's key liaison with parents, external agencies, local authority services, and specialist providers.
• Lead transition arrangements for pupils joining the school and moving on to post-16 education.
• Oversee examination access arrangements in line with current regulations.
• Drive staff training and professional development to enhance SEND practice across the school.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of SEND interventions and whole-school provision.
