Job summary

Kempston Rural Primary School is seeking an exceptional SENDCO to join our leadership team and drive inclusive practice across the school. You will work with staff, parents, governors and external agencies to identify and remove barriers to learning, ensuring every child achieves their full potential.

The role involves strategic leadership of inclusion, development of staff practice, and collaboration to improve outcomes for all pupils within a vibrant, two-form entry school setting.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status and is experienced in SEN provision.
  • Has NASENCO Award or NPQ for SENCOs or is currently undertaking the qualification.
  • Broad experience supporting pupils with SEND across a range of needs.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, Equality Act and related guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and evaluate SEND provision across the school.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, governors and external agencies to remove barriers to learning.
  • Plan, monitor and review SEND support and EHCP processes.
  • Coach and develop staff through mentoring, training and professional development.

Education

Qualified Teacher Status
NASENCO Award or NPQ for SENCOs
Experience with SEND across needs
Understanding of SEND Code of Practice
