Job summary

Reach South Academy Trust in Exeter is seeking a committed SENCo to lead and develop our SEND provision, shaping inclusive practice and securing outstanding outcomes for pupils with SEND. The successful candidate will hold QTS, a degree, and the National Award for SEN Co-ordination, with strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and data-driven decision making.

This role offers a permanent contract (part-time considered), 19.5 hours per week, a competitive salary, LGPS pension, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Degree-level qualification.
• National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or willing to complete within three years.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND developments.
• Experience teaching and working at a whole-school level.
• Experience leading staff development or INSET training.
• Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyse data and use it to improve pupil outcomes.
• Commitment to inclusion, equality and achieving the best outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of SEND policy and provision across the school.
• Manage and maintain the SEND register and provision map.
• Support and advise colleagues on effective SEND practice and quality first teaching.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, local authorities and external professionals.
• Coordinate and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Monitor the impact of interventions and use data to drive improvement.
• Lead and develop teaching assistants and deliver staff training.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and inclusive practice.
