Job summary

Coast and Vale Learning Trust is seeking an enthusiastic SENCo to lead and develop SEND provision across the ACE WRAP Exeter site. The role focuses on strategic development, day-to-day management of SEND, and ensuring statutory requirements are met to achieve outstanding pupil outcomes.

The successful candidate will work with school leaders, staff, parents and external agencies, coordinating EHCPs and data-driven interventions while supporting staff development and inclusive teaching.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Degree-level qualification.
• National Award for SEN Co-ordination.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience teaching at whole-school level.
• Experience leading staff development or INSET.
• Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyse data to improve outcomes.
• Commitment to inclusion and achieving the best outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of SEND policy and provision across the school.
• Manage the SEND register and provision map.
• Advise colleagues on effective SEND practice and quality first teaching.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, local authorities and external professionals.
• Coordinate and review EHCPs.
• Monitor the impact of interventions and use data to drive improvement.
• Lead and develop teaching assistants and deliver staff training.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and inclusive practice.
