Job summary

Sony UK Technology Centre (UK TEC) in Pencoed is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our busy Supply Chain. You will manage day‑to‑day supplier relationships, run MRP for assigned vendors, and ensure delivery performance aligns with production needs.

You will optimise procurement processes, negotiate lead times and costs, and support finance, Incoming Quality and Production teams. Strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with stakeholders across the business.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Strong problem solving and initiative to resolve supply issues.
• Experience in Purchasing or Procurement.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Vendor management and supplier relationship management.
• Run MRP for assigned vendors.
• Place, reschedule, and cancel orders.
• Collate POs and purchase requisitions.
• Track order status and on-time in full reporting.
• Review deliveries against orders and obsolescence.
• Support finance, Incoming Quality and Production.
• Drive process improvements including automation.
• Negotiate lead times and cost reductions with suppliers.
