Job summary

Sony UK Technology Centre in Bridgend is seeking a Purchasing Officer to manage material flow across our multi-disciplinary manufacturing site. You will handle day-to-day vendor management, run MRP, place and reschedule orders, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining accurate PO activity.

You will collaborate with finance, production and quality teams to drive cost reductions and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder liaison abilities.
• Strong time management with attention to detail.
• Proven problem-solving capabilities and initiative.
• Experience in purchasing/procurement and working autonomously.
• Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Day to Day Vendor Management & Supplier Relationship Management
• Running MRP for responsible vendors
• Managing placing/rescheduling parts and cancellations of orders
• Collate purchase orders & requisitions to fulfil demand
• Track status of orders and review deliveries against PO
• Review obsolescence, excess values & quantities
• Support finance, Incoming Quality & Production
• Ensure organised PO acknowledgements and records
• Drive Process Improvements (PI) and automation
• Negotiate lead times and cost reductions with suppliers
